I bought a Powerball a few years ago now.  Used it for a few days, then put it away.

I found it recently in the bottom of a drawer and am now addicted!!!

The Powerball itself is a hand-held gyro-scope.  It was initially, (and still is) used as a strength-building object.  It is said that many professional sports people use it as a training aid.  For example, the current British Open golf champion Padraig Harrington is said to use it.

It is also advertised that it will be an aid if you play tennis, baseball, basketball, cycling, mountain biking, motocross, mountain climbing, fencing, hockey rowing, canoeing, kayaking and probably many more sports.

I can see why it is strength-building!!  After a few goes my wrist muscles and forearm were aching!!!

The addictive feature to it is that the powerball records your the highest score.  The score is the highest revolutions per minute (rpm) that the gyro has reached!  My record is only just over 11,000 rpm!! (and that nearly broke my wrist when I reached that mark!!!!)

A quick look on Youtube and you’ll find a few videos of a greek guy called Akis who can reach over 16,000 rpms!!!  Incredible!!!!

The Powerball is available in different colours: Neon green, neon blue and neon red.  It is also available in a Metal version, which is faster, harder and not surprisingly more expensive.

The powerball can be bought at many online retailers.  Some of these include these:

 - Priced £24.95

 - Priced £24.95

 - Priced £14.95 (£10 off the RRP!)

 - Priced £19.95

 - Priced £24.99

The Powerball Metal is also available from IWantOneOfThose for £69.95.

What do you guys think of it?  Is the metal really worth an extra £45??

Hi everyone,

I’ve neglected this site for too long!!!

With the stock availability of the Nintendo Wii in the UK being such a hot topic I was focusing on my HowAboutAWii blog!

Now, after Christmas, the shops, and online retailers are getting them more regularly.  So, now I can give GamesGadgetsToys my full attention

When I first envisaged this site I made a promise that I will only write articles about a particular game, gadget or toy (GGT), if I had it, or have touched (played with :) !) it!

I didn’t, and still don’t want to plagiarise someone else’s assessment of a GGT from another site!

So, to do this site justice I would like unique reviews of current GGTs!

This is where you come in, so if you have a GGT that you would like to review please can you can either:

  1. Leave a comment to this post, or
  2. Email the story to me @ gamesgadgetstoys@googlemail.com.

I will then read your reviews and properly post it as an article on this site!

If you like, or disagree with any of the evaluations of the GGT on this site please leave a comment on the relevant post.  Please could you also submit the article to the social networking sites for other people to comment!!

Many thanks

Daniel Hibell

P.S. I’m working on a rating system for GGTs…  Once I have this sorted I’ll write a page explaining the system.

Well then…

What is the Picoo Z (Strange name!!) and why am I blogging about it??

It’s awesome that’s what it is!!!!

I got one as a present last week (I’ve just moved jobs, and the old work-mates knew I was a gadget/toy freak!!).  I swear I can get the little blighter to hover now and then aim it at people!

The Picoo Z is a truly amazing indoor flying helicopter, and its brilliant!!!!

For only £24.95 at most online gadget stockists (e.g. Firebox, BoysStuff)

Check it out in action on youtube.

Hi everyone,

I’m a guy who loves buying gadgets, messing around with games, and playing with toys.

So….  I set up this site a while ago, but this is my first post.  I’d previously blogged about the Nintendo Wii last year on my first site HowAboutaWii.  However, it was, and still is getting spammed to death, so here I am!!

What’ll be here on this blog I hear you say….

Well…………….

Hopefully, I can help you out if you’re planning on buying a game, gadget or toy.  And with Christmas coming up I’m sure people will be!  :)   Whether it is for yourself, brother, husband, son etc etc etc!!!  So I’ll be reviewing games, gadgets or toys that I have, or planning to get, and also providing retailers who I’ll recommend.

If I can figure out how to do it I’ll upload videos of the game, gadget or toy so you can see it in action!!

So until the next post.

Take it easy

D
